Eliminating deficits with TRANSCONNECT®
Mauersberger & Fritzsche GmbH & Co.KG is a family-run mechanical engineering company with over 110 years of tradition. In order to counteract the lack of skilled workers, Mafrino is trying to go new paths.
In a second work process, the focus was on optimising quality management. Deficits in various areas became apparent: recording of quality deviations on paper (production of a form with several copies for different departments), lack of structuring in the image storage (photos of deviations – unordered and partly not available). Likewise, the transparency of a quality deviation was missing in the processing procedure; this required a manual communication of the defined corrective action to the corresponding employees.
To optimise quality management at Mafrino GmbH & Co. KG, an extension of the tool app was developed to record quality deviations. This resulted in a link to the ERP system via TRANSCONNECT® in order to automatically load data for a production order (e.g. which article, quantities, etc.). In addition, the app extension included the use of the tablet camera and the images produced were stored centrally on the file server. In a further step, the printing of labels to identify the articles to be processed was integrated. In order to improve quality, a search and filter option for existing deviations was also developed (history of the troubleshooting of individual articles for deviations that have already occurred). The display of created deviations including the image material and the corresponding status – if corrective actions have been defined – are also shown. The integration platform TRANSCONNECT® as a central component ensures access to all data and functions in the app. For the quality management department, a web application was developed in which, after a previous description of the error in production, the corresponding decision is made regarding the procedure with the respective production piece and, if necessary, corrective measures can also be defined. Both applications – web application and tablet app – work in parallel with the same database, which results in more targeted, error-free and transparent communication.
In a workshop, the requirements for quality management at Mafrino GmbH & Co. KG were defined. The existing Android app from the “Digital Tool Cabinet” project was expanded to record the deviation reports. In addition, a command line app for label printing was developed with a connection to the TRANSCONNECT® command line adapter. Part of the optimisation process was the conception of a web application for further processing of the messages. After a project duration of approximately 2 months and step-by-step, process-related adjustments, a digital and optimised quality management process was made available to the customer.
Currently, further projects are already being planned. For example, the CRM Salesforce, as the leading system, will automatically transfer customer master data into the ERP system in the future. Furthermore, other systems, such as TexWare, are to be connected to the system landscape via the TRANSCONNECT® integration platform.
